A beautiful spring afternoon drive under dramatic skies as the fresh spring foliage begins its slow, vibrant climb into the high peaks of America's most visited national park, the Great Smoky Mountains. I've always loved this view of the serpentine curves of Newfound Gap Rd. winding its way up into the mountains from Cherokee, North Carolina. It really adds a sense of scale and depth to illustrate how grand this area of the park is, with scenic mountain views that seem to stretch on almost forever into the distance.
