Bodie Island Lighthouse Outer Banks NC Landscape Photography

A stormy afternoon under dramatic skies at Bodie Island Lighthouse just south of Nag's Head, NC, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The Bodie Island Light Station is a historic structure and an iconic landmark for visitors to the OBX. It can be seen from many miles away in every direction along the coast, standing 156ft tall over the coastal wetlands at the northern end of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. I liked the balance of warm and cool color temperatures in the landscape here, with the cold steel blue skies being offset by the warm golden brown tones in the dormant reeds across the marsh.
