A stunning red sunset over the spring rhododendron flowers along the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Southern Appalachian Mountains north of Asheville, North Carolina. I will always remember this amazing evening in the Craggy Gardens area, one that was filled with dramatic rain storms, double rainbows, golden light rays, and low laying fog from the steam rising in the valley that all ended in one of the most spectacular sunsets I've ever been lucky enough to witness in front of me. I could hardly believe my luck when the sky exploded with sunset colors over the rhododendron flowers at peak bloom, and to be standing at such a breathtaking scenic location when it happened. These are the moments that inspire me to stay out in the mountains chasing the light, and I hope that you enjoy this scenic landscape view as much as I enjoyed chasing it.
