Manteo NC Lighthouse Photography | Outer Banks North Carolina

The Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse enveloped in heavy fog in Manteo on Roanoke Island near the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Just a short drive from Nags Head in the Outer Banks of NC, Manteo is a delightful little harborside village located on Roanoke Island and the Albamarle Sound and is home to this wonderful recreation of a screwpile lighthouse along the town's waterfront boardwalk. OBX is known for it's many lighthouses that are popular attractions along the coast, but this particular example is a bit different than the tall civil war era lighthouses that you commonly see on the brochures. It currently houses an exhibit on the maritime history in the region and makes for a nice visit if you are in the area.
