Blue Ridge Mountains Sunrise Landscape Photography

Sunrise over the morning fog from the East Fork Overlook along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina on a cool morning in October. I really liked the way the low laying cloud was highlighted by the spot of warm morning sunlight as it moved into the saddle between the mountains, drawing the viewer's attention to the early fall foliage colors just starting to show along the mountain ridges below. The surrounding clouds above moved out just in time to open up the view of the mountain peaks in the distant background, rounding out the composition and adding to the sense of depth in the scene. What a great way to start off a day of adventure in the NC Blue Ridge Mountains!
