Roan Mountain Appalachian Trail Spring Flowers Photography

Landscape photography featuring rays of crepuscular light raining down over Roan Mountain State Park along the famous Appalachian Trail in the Roan Highlands area of Western NC. This scene had so many great elements that a landscape photographer looks for, and it was amazing to witness it all in person. The combination of an epic landscape with distant views, dappled light on the grassy ridge in the mid ground, catawba rhododendron at peak bloom, leading lines in the foreground rock and distant hills, all under a dramatic sky filled with crepuscular light rays bathing the landscape in this gorgeous warm light made this a special scene to be remembered.
