A classic summer Appalachian hiking trail scene through a thicket of blooming rhododendron bushes on a foggy day in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, NC.
I always enjoy these scenes along the trail when I'm out hiking, that spot of light at the end of the tunnel, where you never really know what you might see on the other side. Will you be rewarded with a grand scenic view? Or maybe the sights will be hidden in the thick fog? Or perhaps another trek back into the forest awaits. No matter what might lie on the other side, there is always a feeling of anticipation, a bit of hope, that the journey will be worth it. While we may never know what lies around the next bend, we take comfort that there will be rewards somewhere along the way, as long as we continue to push on. Always remember to enjoy the view along the way, and always keep "the hope within".
