Whitesides Mountain Highlands NC Landscape Photography

Highlands, North Carolina is one of my favorite places to visit in the Blue Ridge Mountains and breathtaking scenic landscapes like this are one of the reasons why. The "Rhodes Big View" overlook area offers great views of Whitesides Mountain and the valley below at any given time of day, but it is especially striking at sunrise. When you're lucky enough to be there for a dynamic sky hanging over the fog filled valleys and the golden light of early morning starts spreading down through the valley toward you, it really turns this popular mountain overlook location into something special.
