Blue Ridge Parkway North Carolina Autumn Landscape Photography

Crepuscular light rays rain down from the sky over the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina. I shot this image on a dramatic but beautiful autumn afternoon in October from the Blue Ridge Parkway south of Asheville, NC. It's a special thing being on the Parkway at this time of the year, when the air is crisp but not yet cold, and clear enough to offer these long range scenic views that are often more obscured by the mountain haze.
