Appalachian Trail Photography | Roan Mountain Spring Flowers Landscape

Spring comes to the Appalachian Trail in the Roan Mountain Highlands section as it crosses through the Blue Ridge Mountains along the border of Western NC and Eastern TN. It's always great to see some intense rays of sunlight breaking through the clouds and shining down from the Heavens over this incredibly scenic area in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. When the fresh catawba rhododendron blooms are at their peak in the late spring, the mountain landscapes surrounding Jane Bald are an amazing sight. This section of the AT is very popular with hikers and outdoor enthusiasts for it's large natural gardens of native wildflowers and the vast scenic views in every direction from it's high altitude alpine meadows.
