Spring comes to the Appalachian Trail in the Roan Mountain Highlands section as it crosses through the Blue Ridge Mountains on the border of Western NC and Eastern TN. Intense rays of sunlight break through the clouds and shine down from the Heavens over fresh catawba rhododendron blooms at their peak in the amazing scenic landscapes surrounding Jane Bald. This section of the AT is very popular with hikers and outdoor enthusiasts for it's large natural gardens of native wildflowers and the vast scenic views in every direction from it's high altitude alpine meadows.
