Vivid spring colors creeping up the sides of the Great Smoky Mountains at the Deep Creek Valley Overlook in the heart of the National Park between Cherokee, NC, and Gatlinburg, TN. This easily accessible overlook provides a vast scenic view of seemingly endless layers of mountain ridges stretching into the distance as far as you can see, surrounding the Deep Creek valley leading down towards the town of Bryson City, North Carolina. The mix of dappled golden sunlight breaking through the dramatic skies and highlighting the bright spring foliage on the mountains below really caught my attention here, providing this wonderful mix of warm and cool tones that really showcase the depth and vibrant colors in this Smoky Mountain landscape.
