The Mile High Swinging Bridge at Grandfather Mountain shrouded in heavy fog is a common scene in this harsh mountain environment. This bridge is an icon of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina, and it is a popular spot with visitors to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain State Park.

I've always really liked images with vanishing points disappearing into the heavy fog and the unknown. There is something peaceful yet sinister at the same time about heavy fog, something that plays to our insecurities when we lack the ability to know what lies ahead.
