Asheville Photography | Blue Ridge Mountains Sunset Landscape

Asheville NC can be such a beautiful place, and this sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains is a perfect example of why. The amazing landscape in this photograph isn't the result of hours of hiking to a remote location in the mountains, nor was it taken from some epic location along the Blue Ridge Parkway, it's simply the view from the parking lot at the local Lowes store. From the sea of low laying fog nestled between the peaks of our beloved Blue Ridge Mountains to the sunset sky above, the Southern Appalachians offer breathtaking scenic landscapes like this one to be enjoyed by anyone lucky enough to visit this beautiful area. Asheville is located at the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and it is easy to see why it is a popular tourist destination for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors.

I named this photo "Welcome to Asheville" because it is actually overlooking the end of the runway at the Asheville Airport and is the first view visitors see when flying into Asheville.
