Appalachian Mountains NC Scenic Landscape Photography

Gorgeous golden sunlight illuminates the spring rhododendron bloom in this photography print from Jane's Bald along the Appalachian Trail in the Roan Mountain Highlands of Western NC and Eastern TN. The conditions in the mountains were amazing on this particular evening, and I was lost in the fog with no visibility at all about 30 minutes before I captured this picture. Luckily the clouds blew off of the mountains just before sunset revealing an incredible scenic view highlighted in the warm sunlight of golden hour, including what lingered of the heavy fog bank adding depth and drama into the scene.
