Flame Azalea blooming wild along the Appalachian Trail in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the border of Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. It's hard to beat a summer day on the Appalachian Trail in the area of Roan Mountain, enjoying the big scenic views in every direction from the top of Round Bald, and the plentiful natural gardens of fresh flowers on the hillsides offering up gorgeous foregrounds for the surrounding mountain peaks.
