Blue Ridge Parkway Sunrise Landscape Photography

Sunrise over the distant mountain peaks as the morning fog settles in the valleys in this scenic landscape view from the Pounding Mill Overlook along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina on a cool morning in October. We were so blessed to witness and capture an amazing red sunrise on this morning from this popular scenic overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway during our Autumn Landscapes photography workshop in the fall of 2019.

There's nothing quite like sipping warm coffee and watching a stunningly beautiful sunrise over the mountains on a crisp autumn morning, and it's rewarding moments like this that motivate a landscape photographer to continue getting out there every morning at 5am chasing these experiences that only happen when both planning and a good bit of luck align to produce something worth capturing. If you're lucky, some of that special feeling of being there will come through in the captured landscape photography print that can be enjoyed for many years to come.
