Pink mountain laurel in full bloom along the southern Blue Ridge Parkway in Western North Carolina. When I am out shooting in the mountains, I always try to slow down and take in all the little things. The little flower bushes in bloom along the roadside, the little compositional details like a lone hole in the cloud cover, the leading lines that draw you in, and the way the layers stack up to add depth. Sometimes you just don't need epic sunset skies, or unbelievable conditions for a scene to be worth appreciating. In photography, much like in life, I often find that all the little things add up to a whole that is greater than the sum of it's parts. Sometimes it is indeed the little things that ultimately count the most.
